Sweeper
While travelling I sketched and observed the Gujarati villages. The way the light hits the ground, how the broom creates lumniscent clouds of dust and how the transcluscent folds of the sari fabric drape to make contrasting shades and textures. Indian village life is a mixture of tranquility, serenity, quietude and innocence. This scene captured me and the images mezmerised me. The slow paced society with its not much ado and lights. No highlights, no loud music, and no haphazardness, the only this which surrounds here is the ‘peace’ and ‘calmness’.”
