Padmavati drawing

Padmāvatī is the protective goddess of Pārśva, twenty-third tirthankara in Jainism. She enjoys an independent religious life and is very popular amongst Jains.[1] According to the tradition, Padmavati and her husband Dharanendra protected Pārśva when he was harassed by Meghalin.[2]”””

This artwork is inspired by Goddess Padmavati. In this image there is a layering of images, one of the goddess and one of mortal lady. The message being that within every woman is a goddess. The closer you get to the image, the more intricate details you can see, the further you get , the mortal face you can see. Similar to reality, the more you know a person, the more inner being you can see, and from a distance you can only see a persons face.

The inspiration is that there is a spirit within us women, that we must acknowledge that elevates us and empowers us.
